Eid Adh

Eid Adh is one of the Moslem holy days. It is celebrated on Dzulhijah 10th, the 11th month of the Moslem calendar. It is a time to remember the sacrifice of Ismail. The history of Eid Adh, Abraham is ordered by The Almighty God to sacrifice his son, Ismail. Because of Abraham's obedience, he obeyed the order from The Almighty God. But suddenly, when Abraham would sacrifice his son, Ismail was replaced with a sheep. After that moment, Allah SWT commanded Moslems to sacrifice animals on Eid Adh. Because of that, in that holy day, Moslems provide the sacrificed animals such as sheeps, cows and goats.

The tradition of Eid Adh in my family is sterted with pray together in the mosque or in the field in the morning. After that, we shake hands to each other and then we eat together. Then, the sacrifice animals are started. Usually, the animals are goats and cows. After that, the meats of sacrifice animals are divided to poor people. Some meats are made Sate.

At the same time, Moslems in the world who make the pilgrimage to Mecca are doing Wukuf in Padang Arafah on Dzulhijah 10th. Because of that, Eid Adh is also called Lebaran Haji.
